Do you work from existing photographs?
If the pet is deceased, or unable to travel to a reference photo session, we may be able to work from existing photographs. Extra charges may apply if considerable restoration/editing is required.

What is the difference between Digital Watercolor Paintings and traditional Watercolor Paintings?
Traditional watercolor paintings start with the artist creating a sketch of the pet, either in real life or from reference photographs. The artist then mixes coloured dyes or paints and adds colour to the sketch. The process is accomplished by hand and takes considerable time. The final image depends on both the artist’s ability and interpretation, and is not easy to adjust afterwards if the colours, eyes, expression, etc. are not true to life.

Digital watercolor paintings use the actual reference pictures and a computer to create the final painting. No sketch or colour mixing is required, therefore the image is always true to life. The image may be adjusted easily (size, composition, background, brush detail, etc.) to meet the owner’s desired look.

Do you take reference pictures in the home?
Yes, if the pet does not, or cannot, travel well. There is an additional fee of $150.00 plus travel costs to accommodate home sittings.

Why are Digital Watercolor Paintings so inexpensive compared to traditional paintings?
Elimination of sketching and colour mixing greatly reduce the time required to create the final image.
